I've recently graduated after studying Professional Diploma Award in photography,
having previously graduated from HND Professional Photography and Digital
Imaging at Glasgow's Metropolitan College.
Prior to becoming a photographer, I obtained a degree in languages at university
where I studied Norwegian with Scandinavian Studies, primarily because I hold dual
nationality and wanted to learn more about my Norwegian background. After
spending five years working in the public sector I decided to embark on a career
change.
I like looking at photographs which make me think about what is happening in the
image, sometimes humourous photographs, sometimes more sombre, and
sometimes photographs which make me ask "how did they do that?".
My favourite photographers include Gregory Crewdson, Martin Parr, and Phillip
Lorca diCorcia.
My aim is to make photographs which please the eye of my clients and audience.
I think it's important to work with my clients, to ensure that they get an image
which they enjoy. My aim therefore, is to have a professional yet friendly
relationship with my client, to find what they like and help them to create that
image. As a photographer, I think it is extremely important to develop a good working relationship with my clients to ensure that I can deliver what they want.
